Technical Configuration

The MHB semi-gantry crane is available in standard capacities of 3 tons, 5 tons, 10 tons, 16 tons, and 20 tons, with spans starting at 7 meters and extending to 22.5 meters. Lifting heights range from 6 meters to 18 meters, accommodating a variety of bay heights and stacking requirements. The crane operates under working classifications A3 through A5 per GB/T 3811, suitable for intermittent to moderate-duty cycles. The lifting mechanism is an electric wire rope hoist—typically CD or MD type—which runs along the lower flange of the main beam I-beam, providing smooth horizontal travel. The main beam is a welded box or H-profile steel structure, designed and tested in accordance with GB/T 14406 and FEM/ISO standards. The end carriages and outriggers are fabricated from high-strength steel plate, with wheel assemblies designed for standard railway or square rail. Control options include cabin operation with a fully enclosed operator station, wireless remote control with a range of up to 100 meters, or a pendant station for direct floor-level control. The electrical system can be specified with Schneider or Siemens contactors, circuit breakers, and overload relays, with all wiring conforming to GB/T 5226.1 or IEC 60204. Standard safety devices include limit switches for hoist upper and lower travel, buffer stops at both ends of the runway, overload protection, emergency stop, and anti-collision bumpers. Optional features include variable frequency drives for smooth acceleration and deceleration, a secondary braking system, a load limiter with digital display, and a corrosion-resistant paint finish for humid or outdoor environments.

This crane is deployed across a broad range of industries where partial gantry coverage is sufficient or where building structure cannot support a full overhead crane. Typical applications include steel service centers for handling plate and coil, port and dock warehouses for container or bulk cargo staging, fabrication shops for positioning heavy weldments, automotive assembly lines for engine block or subframe transfer, precast concrete yards for moving molds and finished panels, and logistics distribution centers for loading and unloading flatbed trucks. The semi-gantry configuration is particularly advantageous in facilities with low roof clearance or where one side of the travel path is obstructed by columns, mezzanines, or existing machinery.
